2023 Has Been Amazing.... Thankful, Grateful, Blessed!
First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to all of you who joined trips and supported Finatical Flyfishing in so many ways this year. It is easy to say that Finatical wouldn’t be where it is if it wasn’t for you. In addition, I can’t tell you how much your success on the water with great fish, watching new friendships develop, enjoying new cultures and more has pushed me to continue to grow the options. All of your success, notes, photos, support, and thank you’s have meant more than you know. It has also been an honor to help couples, friends and groups book their own private excursions outside of the advertised Finatical Flyfishing trips. Thank you for these opportunities and I am so happy that you had such a great time!

In just over two years, Finatical Flyfishing has completed more than 600 days of women on the water. We’ve grown because of your requests and input. Cuba, Brazil and the first annual couples trip are great examples of this. Many of you are already booked for 2024 and 2025 excursions and it will be wonderful to have everyone together again. Please keep the input coming.
The reflection of 2023 shows nothing but great flyfishing, friendships and life experiences that do shape us into a greater version of ourselves. I wish you a wonderful holiday season with your family and friends.

Peacock Bass -Brazil
December 28 - January 4, 2025
What is on your bucket list? How about Peacock Bass for a New Years Eve celebration? This one will be an epic adventure with a great group of fishy ladies and we've got four spots left.
Anglers from around the world have been astounded and charmed by the spectacular and unspoiled rain forest surroundings and the ultimate fly-fishing experience of sight-fishing for Peacock Bass at Agua Boa lodge. 20 different species of fish on the fly have been landed here, with different species of Peacock Bass being the prime target. These range in size from the Butterfly Peacock with an average size of 3 to 5 lbs up to the giant Tucanare Peacock Bass averaging around 23 lbs.. Pirarucu, Piranha, Aruana, and Pacu are also plentiful.
The Agua Boa is the only fly-fishing only stretch of river in Brazil. This coveted designation was granted after lengthy negotiations with the regional government and allows the lodge to provide quality fishing throughout the season. All fishing is done with single, barbless hooks. When at normal levels, the water is so clear, and most strikes are visible; a good percentage of your days will be spent sight fishing. It should be noted, however, that the sight fishing opportunities are dependent on light and water levels. We've got great dates that traditionally produce sight fishing.
In addition to the fishing, you’ll have a chance to see tapir, giant Amazon river otters, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, soldier storks, macaws, parrots, toucans, etc. This is a spectacular jungle experience – the river itself is an aquarium. |
