Green River Henrys Fork Trip Reports

Peacock Bass, Brazil
December 28- January 4, 2025

This one is almost full.... join an absolutely wonderful group of anglers who will be celebrating New Year's Eve landing Peacock Bass.

Anglers from around the world have been astounded and charmed by the spectacular and unspoiled rain forest surroundings and the ultimate fly-fishing experience of sight-fishing for Peacock Bass at Agua Boa lodge. Twenty different species of fish on the fly have been landed here, with different species of Peacock Bass being the prime target. Pirarucu, Piranha, Aruana, and Pacu are also plentiful.

The Agua Boa is the only fly-fishing only stretch of river in Brazil. This coveted designation was granted after lengthy negotiations with the regional government and allows the lodge to provide quality fishing throughout the season. All fishing is done with single, barbless hooks. When at normal levels on these dates, the water is so clear, and most strikes are visible; a good percentage of your days will be spent sight fishing. It should be noted, however, that the sight fishing opportunities are dependent on light and water levels. In addition to the fishing, you’ll have a chance to see tapir, giant Amazon river otters, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, soldier storks, macaws, parrots, toucans, etc. This is a spectacular jungle experience!

Green River Trip Report

The sun and bugs were out, spring flows were down and a wonderful group of ladies came together on the Green River at the end of June! Three days of guided fishing produced several fish for each angler most days, and a lot of dry fly fishing to be had. Our new lodging location allowed everyone to have their own room, plenty of shared space in the cabins, a great large deck to enjoy dinners outside and a few games of Cornhole on the lawn. The Cornhole competition may have been more fierce than the fishing ... but it all came together in new friendships at the end of the trip.

Our Keep Fish Wet Photo contest inspired some great photos with the fish in the water. The group voted on our official winner and the prize bag included a new Airflo line, a Yeti water bottle, snacks from Kates Real Food and more! This contest will continue throughout the summer trips and you'll see more details below.

Next years Green River trip will be June 21-25, 2025 and it is filling right up! Join us for three days of guided fishing, four nights lodging, all meals and beer/wine with dinner. You can book before July 31st with $500 down*.  Trip extensions on the Green, the Henry's Fork or other nearby western rivers are available upon request.

Henry's Fork Trip Report -July 2024
Our trip started with a casting lesson by Millie Paini; the group tuned up their skills for the technical challenges presented by the Henry's Fork.

The Callibaetis have started popping (which is earlier than normal) due to the recent heat. Quite a few of our boats hit the area near McCrea's bridge to get in on the action. With seven boats each day we spread out through the Ranch, Box Canyon, the lower river and Quake Lake to cover all of the options.  Ranch fishing is always tough but we did find some success. One boat had nine eats and others brought fish to the boat for some beautiful photos and memories. Thanks to a few clouds that rolled in on day two and three we found a few Drakes still hanging on and tempting fish. Ranch fish on Drakes are a favorite and we enjoyed that gift from mother nature. Warm River to Ashton blessed several anglers with full nets and we found some nice browns on other sections of the lower river.

Another Keep Fish Wet photo contest was promoted and our participants came up with some creative and amazing ways to take their memories home and keep the fish in the water. Check out the details in the segment below.

This summer Finatical Flyfishing trips include a photo contest encouraging anglers and guides to follow "Keep Fish Wet" best practices. We all enjoy the memories and photos from a trip, but it is important to protect our future fisheries at the same time. Prizes included water bottles from Yeti, Airflo lines, Kates Real Food snacks and more. Stay tuned to our social posts for more of the photos.

Silver Creek, Idaho Couples Trip
September 15-19, 2024

1 Couple spot left!

Silver Creek, Idaho is world renown and it is right in the heart of the ‘Valley’. Other area options include the Salmon River in the Sawtooth Mountain Range and Copper Basin, home of the tributaries to the Lost River and the headwaters of the Lost River itself. The Big Wood also offers over 137 miles of water running right through Sun Valley.

Silver Creek is there for those who crave the technical challenges flyfishing can present. Other area options include less technical waters and this environment provides a chance to meet and fish with other anglers who share your passion. Fish with your spouse/partner or mix and match for some girls/guys days on the water. All levels of angler welcome. We have one brother / sister combo and last years couples trip included a father / son combo. Bring your best fishing buddy and join us!

We have partnered with a group of talented guides from Silver Creek Outfitters that includes both men and women. We’ll rely on their knowledge of recent fishing to pair each day’s adventure with your skills and goals. We'll have two days of beautiful walk / wade trips on Silver Creek, the Wood River, Salmon River or a number of other great area locations depending on your preferences and the latest fishing reports. The third day will be floating the Salmon river near Stanley, Idaho which is absolutely spectacular in the fall!  Four nights lodging, three days guided fishing, all meals and beer/wine with dinner.
